England Football Resources

Huddersfield Town are a professional football team based in Yorkshire, England. The club is part of the Premier League and has been involved in the Football League for the majority of the club’s history. The club came into existence in 1908 and it also is usually referred as the Terriers. It took the club only three years in order to enter into the Football League after it was founded. Over the years, the club has created several historic events – including becoming the first team from England to win three league titles on the bounce back in 1926.

The team has been extremely successful over the course of its history, but majority of the success came in the 20th century. The team has picked up three first division titles, one second division title, and one fourth division title. In terms of the cup competitions, the FA Cup success in 1922 is the biggest achievement for Huddersfield Town, while the club has come close to winning the League Cup by reaching the semifinals in 1968. Some of the iconic players at the club happen to be Denis Law, Peter Doherty, Ray Wilson, and Clem Stephenson. During the course of its history, Huddersfield have had some iconic managers like Herbert Chapman and Bill Shankly.

Leeds Road was the first stadium for the club and it served its purpose from 1908 to 1994. However, the need to move to a brand-new stadium with better facilities came about in 1994. The club then switched its home to the Kirklees Stadium, which holds 24,500 spectators. Over the course of the English football history, only Huddersfield have the distinction of playing in all four levels of the division at two different grounds. The location of Huddersfield makes them face rivals with the likes of Leeds United and Bradford City.
