ACF Fiorentina S.p.A., or commonly known as Fiorentina, are a professional football club based in Florence, Italy. The club came to existence back in 1926 but had to undergo vast changes and was reinstated in 2002 due to bankruptcy. However, Fiorentina have spent majority of their existence in the top flight of Italian football – Italian Serie A. They have been able to enjoy a huge amount of success in different cup competitions.

The Italian championship is one of the key titles won by Fiorentina over the course of the illustrious history. The club has picked up the Championship title on two occasions. Furthermore, six Coppa Italia titles and a Supercoppa Italiana title have cemented Fiorentina’s authority as one of the top clubs in this country. On the European front, Fiorentina’s biggest success was winning the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1961. The team also finished as the runner-up in the European cup competitions to the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus. In doing so, they became one of the 14 teams from Europe to appear in all three top continental finals.

The Stadio Artemio Franchi has been the home ground for Fiorentina since 1931. It can currently hold just over 43,140 supporters. This ground has witnessed several changes, expansions, and renovation works. They have been able to sustain the growing fan base for the Viola, as they are nicknamed.

Manuel Pasqual has made the most number of appearances (356) for Fiorentina but Gabriel Batistuta probably ranks as one of the most iconic players in the club’s history. The Argentine represented Fiorentina for a period of nine years and he came up with 168 goals in just 269 matches. Kurt Hamrin of Sweden, though, is not far behind with 150 goals in his 289 games. Over the years, the club has had popular coaches like Sven-Göran Eriksson and Claudio Ranieri.
